Interview: Mohini Dey

Mr. Christopher and NPG drummer Michael Bland welcome Indian bassist Mohini Dey to discuss her insanely funky bass stylings and the challenges of being a female bass player in a male dominated space.

Mohini Dey also discusses the challenges she experienced being a musician in the midst of her Indian culture and heritage that fights against chasing dreams and careers that they consider flights of fancy. Being raised by parents who were performers themselves and knew all of the difficulties that she would face and the balancing act of encouraging her while still maintaining the rigors of cultural expectations, and failing.
