Interview: High Fade
New funk music has become increasingly difficult to find nowadays. Thankfully its effect on music is experienced around the world.
Enter the Scottish funk band from Edinburg, High Fade. In 2023 they dripped out funky clips of street performances on strategic intersections and crosswalks outside of concert halls. That collection of song ideas became their EP entitled Live in London, which managed to capture the ear of Funkatopia and gain them a spot on the Extras list for the Best Funk Albums of 2023.
The following year, they had acquired enough material to put together a brand new album entitled Life’s Too Fast, which again landed them on Funkatopia‘s Best Funk Albums of 2024. So when High Fade announced they were coming back to the states, Mr. Christopher packed up his camera and hit the streets to meet them at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta.
